Description

SJ 77 SW NETHER PEOVER C.P. FOXCOVERT LANE
(North side)

6/23 Millbank Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, probably early C19 with some Cl7 internal features. Brown
brick in English garden wall bond; tiled roof. 2 storeys: 2-window
main wing left; projecting cross-wing right. Small-pane casements of
3 lights to lower storey and 2 lights to upper storey in slightly
recessed basket-arched openings. Larger casement in similar opening
to lower storey of cross-wing. Gabled porch in junction of wings with
basket-arched opening. Diminishing brick chimneys, 1 at junction of
ridges, 1 on ridge of main wing and 1 towards rear of cross-wing.
Interior: Chamfered oak beams in cross-wing suggest C17 origin. The
main wing may well be early C19.
The front and right faces have an attractive informal but homogenous
character.
