9/149 Range of barns about 30 metres west
- of Wooda
GV II
Range of barns, possibly incorporating a former farmhouse. Probably C18, possibly
incorporating earlier fabric; C19 additions and few later alterations. Slatestone
and granite rubble. Slate roofs with ridge tiles and gable ends; there appears to be
a truncated stack at the right gable end.
Plan: The first range is to the right, 2-storey, with stepped wall at the right end,
possibly a stack. Attached to left is a lower 2-storey range; this has cow-house at
ground floor with loft over. Attached to front right is a small single storey rubble
shed.
Exterior: The first building has 3 doors at ground floor, 2 with granite lintels and
one with timber lintel; one ventilation slit. Upper level has 2 loading doors and
one small single light with timber lintel. Row of square pigeon holes across the
whole front. Attached to front right is a small single storey rubble shed with door.
Attached to left is the later barn, with asymmetrical front; 2 doors and 3 window
openings at ground floor, 3 to left with granite lintels, 2 to right with timber
lintels; small single storey C10 addition to front. First floor has 2 loading doors
and one window.
