Description

TINTAGEL BOSSINEY
SW 08 NE
Garden wall and gate piers to south
4/177 west of Bossiney Court
GV II

Garden walls and pair of gate piers. Circa mid C17, partly rebuilt in circa C19.
The slate stone rubble garden walls enclose the garden in front of Bossiney Court
(qv). The walls are over 10 feet high on the north west side of the garden with a
row of probable pigeon holes near the top. Directly in front of the entrance to the
house stand a pair of circa mid C17 gate piers; roughly coursed slate-stone rubble
with moulded slate caps and bases. The piers are square-on-plan and the moulded caps
are partly obscured by a vigorous covering of ivy.
