GV II

Barn. C17 or early C18. Timber frame on tarred brick sill, dark
weatherboarded with a roof of corrugated iron, but thatched until
1930's. A tall, 4-bay, unaisled barn facing S and backing onto the
street. Double doors in 2nd bay from E. Mid-height rail tennoned
in-line. Long straight braces to tie-beams. Face-halved bladed scarf
joint in wallplate. Knee-braces to doorway. Thin tension braces. Served
as village hall after 1918. Included for group value.
