Lower Lewden Farmhouse

GV II

Barn. Early C17 with later additions. Coursed rubble with ashlar
dressings. Stone slate roof. 2 storey. South front has a doorway
to the right, and an off-centre set of steps rising to the first
floor. To the left 2 windows and a blocked doorway. Above an off-
centre loft doorway and to the right 2 glazed windows. North
front has 2 windows with deeply chamfered ashlar surrounds, both
originally with mullions.
Interior has large scale, well preserved roof with ashlar roof
trusses and overlapping purlins.
