Wall encircling Tamworth Castle

II

Wall encircling castle, forming revetting to path. Probably
medieval origins; C17 or C18 with C19 rebuilding. Stone rubble
with brick to west and south. Raking buttresses at intervals,
one brick buttress to south-west has grille to opening. Stone
coping to west and south. Section to east has low coped wall
with signs of missing railings flanking steps, and end piers
with pine finials.
