Row of 3 houses, now 3 shops including Post office. Early/mid C17. Coursed
limestone rubble; gabled roof, with concrete tiles to left and stone slates to
right; ridge stack of rendered stone finished in brick; brick ridge and right
end stacks. 3-unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Three late C19
shop fronts with fluted pilasters and scrolls beneath moulded cornices: central
shop front retains half-glazed door and 3-pane sash. Timber lintel over plank
door to passage. On first floor, timber lintels over C20 and C19 casements and,
to left, C18 three-light wood-mullioned and transomed window with turnbuckle to
opening light. 2 gabled roof dormers. Early C18 rear left wing of limestone
rubble with gabled stone slate roof. Interior: chamfered bean and open fireplace
to centre. Rear wing has boxed beams and butt-purlin roof. First flour of front
range only partially inspected.
