Threshing barn. C16 or earlier, re-roofed and cart entrances and pentices added in late C18 and
C19. Timber-framed clad in weatherboarding on brick plinth. South side has tall hipped cart
entrance, north side has lower penticed cart entrance and penticed additions on 3 1/2 sides, on
wooden supports to north. Steeply-pitched old tiled roof. 5 bays. Interior has C16 or earlier
frame intact up to the top of the wall plate and late C18 or early C19 roof with through
purlins, collar beams and ridgepiece. Wall frame has jowled posts, midrail and curved tension
braces to wall frame. 2 bays retain passing braces. Much lath and plaster infill survives. Above
the northern cart entrance is a shutter groove with the mortises for diamond mullions and a
further shutter groove to the east. Boarded partitions with down braces survive on either side
of the cart entrances. C18 door with pintle hinges to outshut.
