Threshing Barn. Late C16, altered, extended and re-clad C17. Timber framed on
stone plinth, boarded with waney elm boards and roofed in corrugated iron.
chief external features are cart doors in centre of south side, large opening in
east gable and various smaller openings. Interior of 5 bays of which the centre
three are original and a further one added at either end in C17. Four pairs of
crucks with the later end bays of post and truss construction. The crucks have
ties and collars and carry through purlins. The wall framing has passing braces
and has boarded lower panels with woven wattle above. Most of the timbers from
the C16 and Cl7 survive but there are both gaps and additions.
