1/111 Garages/Boat shed and adjoining
- walls 3m to south west of Carolina
Cellars
GV II
Possibly boatsheds or fish cellars now used as garages with enclosed open yard to
front. Stone rubble with scantle slate roof with gable ends and low stone rubble
wall to front enclosing area in front of sheds. The open sheds have been divided
into 4 bays by cast-iron columns and have a row of brick niches along the rear wall
possibly used in conjunction with the pilchard fishing industry (qv fish cellars in
Port Gaverne). The low wall to the front has been partly rebuilt and the entrance on
the south side is late C20. The walls on the lower side form the retaining wall to
the unspoilt rocky beach of Portquin.
Prominent position along the south east side of Portquin.
