Terraced houses with shops. c.1790-1800 Portman Estate development with
c.1800-20 shop fronts. Stock brick with stuccoed ground floor, No. 57
painted; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys. 2-window wide fronts.
Wooden shop fronts with shallow segmental bowed windows (partly altered
at No. 53) with brackets carrying entablature with dentil cornices;
No. 55 has reeded pilasters carrying the entablature with inswept frieze;
square headed doorways with panelled doors and fanlights. Upper floors
have recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged red brick arches.
Stucco plat band to 1st floor. Parapets with stone copings.
