Barn, early C17 with c.1800 alterations. 7 bays, unaisled. Gabled midstrey on
west side. Timber-framed and weatherboarded on red brick plinth. Corrugated
iron roof. Some good close-studding. The tie-beams, roof structure, and
probably 1st floor structure, all removed c,1800 and new clasped-purlin roof
built. This was one of a complex of buildings formerly surrounding the base
court of Hawstead Place. Included for group value.
