STRETTON UNDER FOSSE MAIN STREET

3/73 Former Chapel
- II
Chapel, now workshop. 1790-91. Brick, in English bond with hipped Swithland
slate roof. 2 storeys; 2-window range. Plank doors to left and right with
moulded wood surrounds and leaded fanlights. To centre a 2-light leaded window
with lead fanlight. Doors and window have double segmental brick arches. To
centre right and centre left of first storey a circular leaded window with
segmental brick surrounds. First floor brick storey band and dentilled brick
eaves cornice. Interior: original staircase. Gallery with pews supported on
moulded wood pillars. 3 complete box pews.
