Gate-piers and flanking walls at entrance to planned group of
Italianate style villas designed as individual pairs. Mid-late
C19, probably by George Wightwick. Plymouth limestone walls
and limestone panelled and gabled gate-piers and flanking low
coped walls of Plymouth limestone brought to course and with
former iron railings removed. Wall steps up higher on the
right in front of Ford Park Lodge (qv) and is of coursed
limestone. Former iron railings removed.
Part of a "well preserved L-shaped layout of particularly
lavish mid C19 villas with busy Italianate stucco detail"
(Pevsner).
