1780. Mrs Hemans stayed here for the summer of 1830. Some alterations
in C19. Roughcast, with deeply overhanging eaves, 2 storeys. Front facing
Lake has centre former doorway (now window) with stone architrave and cornice,
2 12-paned sash windows on ground floor and 3 above, and a small sash in
top of gable. A gabled wing to north has 1 sash on each floor. A gabled
wing to south has a pointed arched porch, and 1 sash window on each floor.
Pierced C19 bargeboards on all 3 gables. Interior has an C18 marble fireplace
from Elleray.
