TL 70 NW 9/968 South west Barn at Old
Lodge Farm

Barn. Late C17/early C18. Weatherboard over timber frame set on brick plinth;
half-hipped C19 slate roof. 5-bay plan with central threshing floor. Gabled
midstrey with strap hinges to plank double doors and dovecote set in gable;
flanked by lean-to roofs over open-fronted shelter shed to left and over granary
raised on brick piers and with strap hinges to plank door to right. Interior:
York stone threshing floor; timber frame with straight wall bracing; unjowled
storey posts with straight braces to tie beams of queen-strut trusses with
staggered butt purlins. Original render and weatherboarding to right and rear.
