4/155 Blythes Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Probably early C18. Stone rubble, covered with corrugated asbestos on
rear elevation. Slate roof with gable ends. Brick end stacks.
Plan: Original plan uncertain. The house has 2 room and cross passage plan. The
two rooms heated by end stacks. There is a straight joint to right of centre
suggesting that the house has been partly rebuilt or extended. Small C18 or early
C19 one-room plan extension on left.
Exterior: The house is built down the slope the ground rising to right. Two
storeys. Almost symmetrical 4-window front. C20 door with asbestos slate hood.
Two C19 2-light casements to left and right with dressed stone arches to the
openings. First floor with three C19 2-light casements and 1-light casement to left
of centre. Two storey C18 or C19 extension on left.
Interior: Not inspected.
