Farmhouse. C16 or earlier, extended early C17, altered C19. Timber frame,
plastered. Thatched roofs. A large L on plan: 3 cell main range probably has
open hall origins, 2 cell parlour wing added to rear left. All 2 storeys and
attics. To front a central pantiled lean-to projects with an entrance in
right end, upper bay to left has dual 2-light casements, first floor part
opening 3-light casement. Large early axial ridge stack to left of centre on
main range, roof hipped to left to slightly taller parlour wing. Outer return
has scattered casements, some metal frames, some leaded lights, central ridge
stack with a moulded foot. Right or service gable end 2-light casements,
moulded brackets to plates, exposed double purlins. Rear or parlour gable end
exposed plates and single purlins. To rear a boarded door in probable cross
passage position, 2 and 3-light casements, 4 lights part lattice leaded on
first floor of parlour wing. In inner angle a C19 2 storey projection with a
half glazed door, 3-light leaded casement, leaded roof, pantiled lean-to
outshut. Interior not inspected.
