GV II

Village school. Dated 1871. Established by Henry Robert
Clifton. Red brick, with ashlar dressings and slate roof.
Renaissance Revival style. Chamfered plinth and quoins,
dentillated eaves. Windows are wooden framed cross casements.
Single storey; 3 window range. Slightly projecting centre bay,
with elaborate shaped gable incorporating a bell turret and
topped with a wind vane. 2-light window with stone mullion and
segmental pediment. Above, in the gable, datestone and coat of
arms. Side bays have single windows under cornices.
