SX 89 NW CREDITON HAMLETS VENNY TEDBURN

7/135 Posbury Lodge

Lodge to Posbury House (now Posbury St Francis) now cottage. Early C19. Volcanic
rubble with C20 roughcast on west side; rubble stacks topped with brick; wheat reed
thatched roof. Cottage ornee of 3 small heated rooms served by axial stack and
southern end service stack. Single storey with conical roof around axial stack and
lower pitched roof to southern gable end. Main front is north-facing end wall.
Roof carried over verandah with canted sides supported on 4 rustic posts with arch
braces. 2 window front behind comprising C20 casement to left blocking former
doorway and original timber 2-light casement to right containing leaded diamond
panes. 3 window fronts to both long sides with door now in west side. Only rear
(left) casement of east (roadside) front also retains leaded diamond lights.
