Beaurepaire Mill

GV II

Water mill, converted into house. Circa 1870s or `80s for the Beaurepaire estate. Red brick in English bond with some burnt headers. Clay plain tile gabled roof with deep eaves and verges with ornate pierced bargeboards with pendants. PLAN: Square on plan, with central doorway on each floor on south side. Victorian Tudor Gothic style. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical 2-bay east front with two gables, 3-light casements on ground floor and 2-light casements above, all with lozenge-shape panes, cambered brick arches and moulded brick hoodmoulds; central doorway with glazed door and wooden gabled porch. Similar but asymmetrical fenestration to west elevation. South side has central doorway with canopy and doorway above and large wooden hoist house in the roof with pierced bargeboards to the gable and with window with lozenge-shape panes. 2-window north side with similar windows. INTERIOR not inspected, but said to have no machinery.
