1/85 Forest Gate Farmhouse and barn

II

Farmhouse, c1840, red brick with slate eaves roof attached to barn,
early C19, ironstone with ashlar dressings and hipped stone slate
roof. Farmhouse is 2-storey, 3-window range with rebuilt end
stacks, 12-pane sashes with cambered heads and centre door with
fanlight set in gabled brick and timber porch. A rear wing
connects to the barn. Barn has flush quoins, large south opening
with cambered brick head, casement pair at upper level each side in
flush ashlar surrounds. Ground floor door each side. Vent loops
flanking upper windows and to left of ground floor doors.
Interior is brick-lined with 7-bay double purlin roof. King-post-
and-angle-strut trusses. North side has brick head for north
cart-entry inside but unbroken stone outside.
