5/242 Sessions House
GV II
Formerly the Sessions House of the Isle of Ely built in 1808 and
designed by Thomas West, local architect. Local gault brick
with stone dressings; hipped slate roof and louvre. One storey
and half basement, main entrance facing east, approached by
stone stairs with iron railings. Parapet with stone copings,
rusticated quoins, cornice band and plinth. Five, recessed,
twelve-paned hung sash windows in cambered gauged brick arches.
Main entrance now with modern door and fanlight in original
cambered, gauged brick arch, two flanking windows similar to
main facade. Original coved ceiling now boarded over.
