Detached house, c1720, altered in early C19. Rubble stone walls with raised
ashlar quoins, tiled roof with coped gables, brick end stacks. 2 storey and
attics. L-shaped plan, with a later C19 rear infil block. East elevation, to
Queen Street, has a 6-panel raised panel door in open porch with concave pyramidal
roof on slender columns. Ground floor has 2 stone mullioned windows - flat
mullions, the one left of door with casements with glazing bars, the one right
of door with sashes with glazing bars. 2 similar windows on first floor. Small
casement in attic gable at right end. Elevation to High Street has, at left end,
a 2-storeyed semi-circular bow window, with stone mullions and sashes with
vertical glazing bars, moulded cornice and flat roof. Right of this on each
floor, a 2-light stone mullioned window with sashes with vertical glazing bars.
Pump at rear of house dated 1811. Internally: Ground floor room in south-east
corner has large fireplace with C18 surround. Room in north-east corner has
plaster cornice with acanthus detail. Several raised panel doors. Door at
rear of kitchen in chamfered stone surround. Stone boundary wall along High Street.
