5/64 Plaistow Mill and adjoining
- Barn and Shippon

GV II

Connected group of outbuildings consisting of watermill, barn and shippon. Mid C19
all of stone rubble with slate roofs. The mill building is 3 storeys: the 14 ft.
overshot wheel with wooden spokes, buckets and iron rim and gearing at ground
level, pair of stones (formerly 2 pairs) at first floor and sack hoist machinery
and storage bins above. Some of the openings with flat brick arches have been
extensively altered, now with 1 single and 1 double wooden loading door at first
floor level. Attached barn and shippon extend eastwards at right angles to the
mill-building.
