Outbuilding relating to Truthall qv. Probably circa early C19 incorporating a reused
C17 doorway and possibly on the site of an ancient building and possibly
incorporating ancient walls. Granite rubble with some dressed granite. Hipped
corrugated asbestos roof.
Long rectangular plan with 3 narrow doorways and one blocked doorway on the west
farmyard side. The right-hand corner of this side adjoins the higher end corner of
the hall of Truthall. The blocked doorway at approximately 3 metres from this corner
has C17 chamfered jambstones inside probably resited but possibly this was a doorway
in a courtyard wall enclosing an area in front of Truthall, and if that is what it is
then this wall of the building is at least partly C17.
This is a simple building but its relationship with Truthall qv. is very important.
