7/18 Signal Box

Signal box. Probably circa 1854. Slatestone rubble walls with granite quoins,
jambstones, lintels and window sill. Corrugated asbestos roof with gable ends.
Originally with slate roof and old photograph shows chimney.
1-room plan.
Single storey. North front overlooking track has doorway with ledged door, left, and
3 light wooden mullioned window, right.
Interior not inspected.
Part of The Chacewater Railway 1824-1915 which transported mineral ore to Devoran
from the mining hinterland.
Horse drawn until 1854 when steam locomotives were introduced.
