Bakehouse 15m to north west of Newton Ferrers House

(Formerly listed as Bakehouse 50m to north west of Newton Ferrers House)

Bakehouse, now store with studio above. Circa C17. Stone rubble with asbestos slate
roof with hipped ends on north and south. Large stone lateral stack on north
elevation. C20 brick stack adjoining. 1-room plan with loft above.
South front, 2 storeys with dressed stone arch with granite keystone. Window to
first floor introduced in new opening. Brick dressings. East elevation with partly
blocked large dressed stone arch with granite keystone. 4-light window above.
Ground rises to west with loft entrance in west elevation.
Interior; large granite chamfered lintel to fireplace with chamfered right-hand jamb.
Bake oven to right. Concrete block piers introduced for further support for upper
floor. Ceiling beams replaced. Loft not inspected. Included for group value.
