II

Gatelodge to Ware Park, now a house. 'DA 1883' in tiled panel on
W chimney. Plum brick with stone dressings. Half-timbered
gabled upper floor to front (S) projection and red tiled roofs.
Canted mullioned and transomed stone bay window forming the lower
part of the projection. Gabled open wooden porch in the angle to
the right hand. Large projecting side chimney on left (W) with
stone plinth, window surround to inglenook, chamfered surround to
tiled moulded date panel, and moulded string course stepping up
over panel. Gabled tiled offsets to upper chimney with pilaster
strips and corbelled head to shaft. Moulded stone mullioned
windows. Chevron patterned bargeboards with turned finials,
porch ornament and tiled panel, in the style of the Aesthetic
Movement.
