House. Probably early to mid C18; altered, and extended to
rear. White painted roughcast render probably on brick, roof
of graduated purple slate. One-bay lobby-entry plan extended
to double-depth with rear outshut under catslide roof (C20
flat-roofed extension to rear of this).
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; single-window range. Square-headed
doorway at right-hand end (in line with chimney) protected by
old wooden pitched canopy on brackets; one 3-light small-paned
sliding sash window on each floor to the left, that at ground
floor segmental-headed and the other directly under the eaves.
Single-flue gable chimney to right.
Right-hand gable wall has 2 C20 windows at ground floor and
another in the gable. Left gable wall linked to No.39 (which
is single-storey almost to the same height).
INTERIOR: not inspected, but reported to have purlins made
from ship's mast split down the centre.
