Gates and gate piers. c1900. Probably designed by Francis JC
May. Red brick, stone and iron. 4 piers, square in their lower
part, octagonal above, with bands of stone and brick
alternately; egg-and-dart moulding to cornice, coved coping
and finial; carriage entrance to centre with double gates,
pedestrian entrances either side with single gates, the gates
decorated with arabesques influenced by Art Nouveau. Low walls
flanking the piers in Bevendean Road, curved in plan, with
stepped stone coping, with piers at either end.
