Row of 6 houses, now 5. Early C19 with slightly later ends.
Coursed limestone rubble with brick returns; gabled slate
roofs with brick end stacks and 6 cross-axial stacks. Single
or 2-unit or 3-unit plans.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 13-window range. Chez Nous: 2-unit plan,
with taller single-unit plan to left, formerly separate house.
Taller element has entrance to right with C20 door and canopy;
canted bay window with hipped roof over casement; first floor
has window with sill and wedge lintel over 3-light casement;
element to right has 2 windows to ground floor with timber
lintels over 2-light casements, that to right a former
entrance; first floor has 2 windows with lintels over 2-light
small-paned casements.
Beltane: 2-window range; entrance with lintel over C20 door
has 2-light small-paned casement to right with sill and
lintel; similar windows to first floor.
Oddover Cottage: 3-window range. Entrance to left has canopy
and plank door; blocked large entrance to right has plank door
and window. Windows have lintels over 2-light small-paned
casements, wedge lintels and tile sills to first-floor
windows.
Evenunder Cottage: 2-window range. Entrance has canopy and 6
fielded-panel door (2 panels glazed) in moulded doorcase;
flanking canted bay windows have hipped roofs over small-paned
glazing; windows to first floor have sills, and stone lintels
over 3-light small-paned casements.
Green Cottage: 3-window range. Entrance has canopy and C20
door; flanking canted bay windows have hipped roofs over
small-paned glazing; first floor has 2 windows with wedge
lintels over 3-light small-paned casements. Addition has
ironstone quoins and window to each floor with sill and jambs,
that to ground floor with lintel, and 2-light small-paned
casements. Return has lower rubble wing to rear.
