Pair of attached houses. C17 with C19 rear extensions. Painted
timber frame with painted render infill panels on stone rubble
plinth. Buff brick and red brick rear wings. Old plain-tile
roof. Projecting brick gable-end stacks. 2-window range to
front with twin gabled brick rear extensions, with No.1
occupying the left half and No.2 the right half.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. West front with square framing
5 panels high, with tension braces to right at sill level and
to left at girding-beam level, truss posts, studs with middle
rails. 2 3-light casements each floor with C20 replacement to
ground-floor right. To the left side of each house is a plain
doorway with projecting tiled canopy, with plain boarded door
to No.2 and C20 flush door to No.1.
Right return gable: square framing 4 panels high, with centre
covered by C20 brick projecting stack. Gable-end truss of tie
beam, collar, vertical struts. Attic- and first-floor
casements in gable. Single-purlin roof evident. Rear extension
side wall to right with 2-light casements with brick
segmental-arch lintels at each floor.
Left return gable: square framing partly covered by projecting
brick stack, gable-end truss of straight tie beam, vertical
struts to collar, girding beam, studs with middle rails. Rear
extension side wall to left as for opposite side.
Rear: twin gables each with 2-light casement at both floors
and rear doorways with C20 doors all with segmental-arch
lintels.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
