House. 1808, with later additions and alterations including
wing to left. For Charles Higgs. Stucco with diamond-slate
roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, originally 3 windows, now 2, with
projecting single-storey wing to left and 2-storey coach-house
to right. Central entrance a 6-panel door with Regency brass
knocker and traceried fanlight. 6/6 sashes throughout. 3
storeys to rear. The house is reputed to be virtually
unaltered.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: known originally as Cowell House, Charles
Cooke Higgs rented out the property.
Forms a group with No.10 (qv).
