Description

J. Russell Mackenzie 1865 incorporating 1769 house at
centre. Baronial, 2-storey basement and attic squared
granite: asymmetrical composition with 4-storey crenellated
S.E. tower with ogee-capped bell turret. Semi-circular
entrance feature corbelled to square. Simple interior,
staircase reconstructed A.G.R. Mackenzie c. 1958.

Statement of Interest

Of the original 1769 house only Sections of masonry remain,

chiefly on the N. front where the fenestration and eaves

course is partly original. Photograph at house shows 2

storey 2 basement 5-window with piend roof, big chimneys and

centre R-doric porch.
