Description

Red sandstone ruin. Cruciform plan with aisleless presbytery,
transeptal chapels and twin towers with great western
doorway. Royal foundation dedicated by William the Lion to
St. Thomas of Canterbury in 1176. Assembly of Nation issued
declaration of Arbroath here in 1320
