History

Small mid C19 house fitted in between existing buildings. It is not shown on the John Wood map of 1835.

Exterior

Rendered and painted front with a Welsh slate roof and red brick stack. Double depth plan with entry in centre and garage door to left. Two storeys, three windows, 1 : 2 with the right hand part set forward but a continuous roofline. Door is a late C20 part-glazed replacement, overlight, continuous fascia above and over the window, which is a canted bay with plate glass sash, suggests it was originally a small shopfront. Upper windows are 6 over 6 pane sashes to right and an 8 over 8 pane sash under an elliptical head above the garage door. All windows with stone cills. Low pitch roof with stack on right gable. Rear elevation not seen.

Included for its special architectural interest as a mid C19 house of definite character which is part of the important group of historic buildings near St. Mary's Church.
