North West of Hill Quay
Cottage

GV II

Pair of attached limekilns. Circa early C19. Local stone rubble. The front
retaining wall is flat and the ends return back in a curve. The 2 corbelled
swallow openings on the front have pointed arches each with a flat corbel
stone at the top.
Across the front there is a low stone rubble wall, apparently to contain the
lime within the area, which is now covered with corrugated iron sheets to farm
sheds.
The furnaces have been filled in with rubble.
