1764. Originally built as Christchurch Workhouse. Red brick with grey headers,
eaves cornice and tiled roof. 2 storeys with 4 hipped dormers above, 10 windows
casements with square leaded quarrels, 2 doorways with hoods supported on brackets.
6 panelled doors. Northern doorway has broken scroll pediment and rectangular
fanlight.

Nos 1 and 2 form a group with the Red House Museum, its Art Gallery and Picture
Store, the Museum Garden Wall and the Churchyard Walls and Vicarage. This group
is also associated with that on Church Lane.
