Pair of cottages, now connnected to make a single dwelling. One cottage mid
C18, the other late C18 with C19 and C20 additions and alterations. Partially
chequered flint and ashlar, partially rendered and whitewashed. 2 storeys,
road facade of 3 window range. One and a half storeys. Fenestration mainly
2-light casements, some with full and some with horizontal glazing bars. Some
of the materials may derive from Eastbury house (qv) by Vanburgh, mostly demolished
in 1775. (RCHM, Dorset, vol.IV, p.95, no.15.)
