west of Windy Nook
Boundary stone. Probably early Cl9. Fine-grained red sandstone slab, c. 0.3
metre high, with large, well-cut Roman capital B on each side. Although
situated on the boundary between Lynesack and Softley civil parish (established
1857 out of Hamsterley) and Woodland civil parish, the initials suggest it
marks a property ownership rather than a local authority boundary.
