19-JUL-84 Weavers Cottage

Cottage. C18 or earlier with C19 alterations and additions. Timber framed
and parget plastered. Half hipped red plain tiled gambrel roof with 2 flat
headed dormers. Central brick chimney stack. 1 storey and attics with single
storey lean-to additions to left and right. The left lean-to with garage doors,
the right with C19 small paned shop window. A small paned horizontal sliding
sash window to left and small paned casement to right of a half glazed door.
Buttress to right. Included as a fairly unaltered example of a rural type now
becoming scarce. (q.v. 4/146).
