C16 timber-framed and plastered house built on an L shaped plan with wings
extending to the south-east and south-west. The main block facing north-west
was built circa 1500 but was considerably altered in the C18. Two storeys
and attics. Three window range on the north-west front and one window range
on the north-east and south-west ends. The windows are mainly double-hung
sashes with glazing bars. (The south-east wing has casements.) A central
6-panel door has a gabled porch. Roof tiled. The interior has fine moulded
beams with a boss carved with a kestrel, and young. There is also a good C18
staircase with a panelled dado. (RCHM 7).
