LINDSELL GOLAND'S LANE
St Mary the Virgin
Parish Church. C12 with C13, C14, C16 alteration and extension, C19 part
restoration. Flint rubble and red brick, with limestone and church dressings. Slate,
lead and tile roofs. C12 Nave has two C14 windows and C14 south arcade, partly
rebuilt. West window in C19. C13 Chancel has original east window reset. C17 north
window and c13 south window and doorway. Semi-circular Chancel arch of C12. Early
C14 south aisle, has a C16 east window and C14 south window both restored externally.
C14 south doorway with segmental arch. South west tower is of 3 stages, with
embattled parapet and brick buttresses. C14 east door and C14 west window. Upper
stages have C16 windows. C19 south porch. Nave roof in 7 cants of uncertain date,
but with tie beams added in C14. Remains of C12 timber visible in west gable. C14
Chancel roof of 7 cants. C15 octagonal font. Some C13 and C14 glass fragments. C13
