4/125 Lower Cottages at Dean Farm
Formerly row of 3 houses, now detached farmhouse. Early-mid C17;
c1870 and late C20 alterations. Random rubble limestone; ashlar
and rebuilt brick chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with
attic; two rear wings, infilled between. Front: 4-window
fenestration, 3-light recessed cavetto mullioned casements with
hoodmoulds to ground floor alternating with 3 Tudor arched doorways
with C20 glazed doors, that to centre being C17 opening, others C19
insertions. Timber casements with timber lintels to upper floor.
Two gabled roof dormers; three ridge-mounted chimneys, 2 with
moulded caps. Lower part to right appears C19 with scattered
timber casement fenestration. Rear: 2 single-storey wings with
attics; some eaves-mounted dormers. C20 infilled area between

stepped chamfer stops. Contemporary stables stand to south west
