9/180 The Green Cottage
One of a pair of houses (formerly 2 cottages). C17, extended C20.
Limestone rubble. Concrete tile roof with one original ashlar
stack and one large C20 coursed squared and dressed limestone
stack. Rectangular plan with a C20 single-storey extension to the
left gable end. Garden front; 4 half dormers, two with gables,
two with raking roofs, all with 2-light metal casements. One 3-
light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with a stopped
hood, one 2-light wooden casement and one C20 two-light wooden
casement to the ground floor, all but the latter with leaded panes.
French doors with leaded panes and a stopped hood far left. Three-
light stone-mullioned casement to the left. C20 stone-built gabled
porch with a C20 plank door with a 6-pane leaded light at the top.
Side facing The Green; upper floor lit by three C20 rendered
dormers with 2-light metal casements, two with leaded panes. Two
single-light fixed casements with double-chamfered surrounds. One
3-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with a stopped
hood to the ground floor. One C20 single-light wooden casement
with leaded panes and two C20 two-light metal casements one with
leaded panes. Axial stacks with cappings and skirtings. Hipped
roof to the C20 single-storey extension. Interior not inspected.
