13/85 Glen Cottage

II

Formerly 2 houses, now single detached house. Late C17; early and
later C18 additions. Random rubble limestone, partly limewashed;
artificial stone rebuilt chimney; stone slate roof. Original 2-
storey with attic east-west house to centre; 2-storey additions to
north and south. West side: 2 projecting gables, right is end of
original house with single-window fenestration, all chamfered
mullioned, 2-light with hoodmould to ground and upper floor, single
attic light. Upper floor 3-light to north addition, C20 lean-to
below. Left gable is C20 rebuilding. South end: single-window
fenestration to side of original house; similar casements to west
side of addition to south. Rebuilt chimney with moulded cap to
east end of original house.
Interior: large stone fireplace with adjacent salt cupboard and
stone spiral staircase. Bread oven in south addition.
