Description

SP 02 28 WINCHCOMBE HAILES STREET
(east side)
4/117
Nos 21 and 23
4.7.1960

GV II

Two houses in row, now one. C16. Close set vertical stud framing over
rendered ground floor, concrete tile roof and brick gable stacks. A wide
frontage jettied frame house with steep roof. Two storeys, 3 windowed,
3 light C19 casements with single horizontal glazing bar and two casements
with glazing bars, one 15 and one 9 pane, left, then at right and
hexagonal bay with casements. Off centre right 6 panel part glazed door.
Interior not seen.
This is a good remaining example of what must have been a characteristic
street building in Winchcombe before the 'great rebuilding' when stone
replaced timber generally.
