House and restaurant. C16. Heavy timber framing in two gables to street
roofed in two sections with stone slates; ground floor rendered, and
original moulded bressummer now built in, left half. Deep wing runs back
right. Two storeys 2-windowed; left gable with canted oriel on brackets
and with slated roof 3 light casement, right gable; at ground floor C20
mullioned and transomed wood display windows . All windows with C20 lead
glazing in hexagonal panes. Centrally pair C20 glazed doors. So called
because John Wesley believed to have stayed in the house in 1779 on his
way to Tewkesbury.
