C18, early C19. A large house of several parts, the joists showing as small
rebates in the walling and slight changes of roof height; but achieving a near-
symmetrical wide east front and a symmetrical south front. East front of 2
storeys, 3:2:3:3:1 windows. Red tile roof hipped at ends and above angular 2
storeyed bays (of 3 windows) at each side, stone coved eaves. Stucco walling.
Upper windows are sashes, casements imitative of sashes, and French windows
opening on to terrace. South front of 2 storeys, 3 windows (bays at ends); red
tile roof, stone moulded eaves, stucco walls with high plinth. Casements (one
added window on ground floor to west side of porch) a large sash in reveals above
solid porch, which has a parapet (coping and band), a fanlight above double
doors, the rear at a lower level is an irregular facade of 3 storeys: 2 massive
buttresses, sashes and casements and 2 tall arched staircase windows. Red tile
roof, brick dentil eaves.
